Ewelme Brook Restoration Project

Part of the wider Chilterns Chalk Streams Project, Ewelme Brook Restoration Project aims to restore this globally rare habitat, creating thriving stream bringing benefit to both people and nature. As a vital corridor between the villages of Ewelme and Benson, the brook supports priority species, particularly at key sites Ewelme Cressbeds and the Cuckoo Pen. The project aims to strike the balance between heritage preservation and wildlife conservation.

The Cherwell and Tributaries Landscape Restoration Project

A farmer-led project restoring the ecological condition of the River Cherwell and its tributaries across a largely arable catchment in north Oxfordshire, through floodplain reconnection, river remorphing, wetland creation and nature-based flood management. Delivered in partnership with a growing farmer cluster of over 35 members, three tributary schemes on the River Swere, Deddington Brook and Sor Brook are already in active development, forming the core of what could become a Landscape Recovery-scale programme.

Reconnecting Bernwood, Otmoor and the Ray (RBOR)

A landscape-scale partnership programme restoring a mosaic of habitats, connecting diverse people, and honouring hidden heritage in the historic, fragile and increasingly pressured Bernwood, Otmoor and the Ray landscape between Oxford, Bicester and Aylesbury. Led by BBOWT with eleven partner organisations, RBOR will work with farmers and landowners to create and enhance habitats across a 370km² landscape, while improving inclusive access to nature and reducing visitor pressure on its most sensitive sites.

Thames Valley Wildflower Meadow Restoration Project

A community driven landscape-scale project restoring floodplain meadows in the Thames, Evenlode and Cherwell Catchments. These are amongst the most species-rich habitats in the UK but, with only 1,200 ha left, are on the verge of extinction. TVWMRP connects experts with enthusiasts to ensure ecological restoration happens alongside community benefits.

Evenlode Landscape Recovery Project

The Evenlode Landscape Recovery project is working to deliver large-scale nature recovery across the Evenlode catchment in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, by bringing together 50 farm businesses to restore habitats, improve water quality, reduce flooding and sequester carbon at a landscape scale across ~3,000 ha.

The Cotswold Savannah Project

A landscape-scale nature recovery and regenerative farming initiative spanning approximately 2,000 ha of the Cotswolds around Bradwell Grove Estate near Burford. The project aims to restore ecological function across a fragmented lowland limestone landscape through habitat restoration, adaptive grazing systems, species recovery and improved ecological connectivity, while maintaining nutritious food production and meaningful social impact.
